So, why is this website here, and what's with its name? The answer is simple -
as with many people, I wanted an email address that I could keep even as and
when I changed ISP. Being well-informed, I knew that the under-utilised
second-level domain me.uk was specifically designed for this purpose - and just
as importantly, avison.me.uk was still available when I was looking! The
website came for free along with the domain, of course, and being reasonably
fluent in HTML, it seemed a shame not to use it. It's all very Web 1.0 still,
though, mainly due to lack of time on my part to learn all the newer
technologies that drive all those lovely interactive websites out there. Maybe
I'll get round to it one day...
